and then it was 2011
on new years eve we drove to oklahoma city to watch the flaming lips play their annual new years eve freakout show. this was our second year attending and we hope to make it a yearly tradition. i’ve seen the lips play three times now and it’s always amazing the state of mind that i morph into as i watch and listen. they both inspire me and challenge me and i always leave feeling more hopeful about life. they have such amazing melodies and lyrics and then the instrumentation makes it all so beautiful or dark or both. it was the best way to start 2011.
